Recently we moved users from a Windows 2008 R2 RDS Server Farm to a Windows 2016 RDS Server Farm.

Today a user showed me something that I did not know you could do.

She is searching for a number of files to send to a client. She has the list of more than 50 file names in an Excel spreadsheet.
1) Copy all 50 + of the files names, concantenates the " or"; and then transposes them onto one line (Filename1 or Filename2 or Filename3 or Filename4 - etc)
2) Copy and paste that line into the Windows File Explorer Search box

The Windows Server 2008 R2 File Explorer is able to search for all 50+ of those filenames which are separated by a Tab that MS Excel inserted and the results are displayed in the Search Results box.

However, if the same string is pasted into the Windows Server 2016 File Explorer Search box, it returns 26 files every time.

I have looked at some of the following Registry areas without finding a value that limits or sets the length value.

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem
(I also tried changing the value on the "LongPathsEnabled" setting under this key)

Any ideas will be appreciated.
