Hey Guys
Trying to figure this out. I have an OU (Lab_Test) That has 2 GPOs directly linked to it.
GPU_Upgrade_Application and GPP_Test_GPO
my link order is correct, the GPO Named: GPP_Test_GPO is linked Number 1. (This is all ok and expected).
Now under my Group Policy Inheritance Tab.
I have the same Group Policy object as "Precedence" 1. Doesnt that mean that no matter what settings are applied by any GPO that this GPO will always apply: GPP_Test_GPO?
here are some screenshots. I am trying to understand why the "linked GPOS" show up in the inheritance tab. Or doesprecedence really only matter when there are conflicting settings?
It just seems to me that the Linked GPO and the GPO with the lowest preference number are the same and therefore those policies would never be overwritten. just confused, I was not expecting to see the linked GPO in the Group Policy Inheritance tab.
