Is it possible to reduce the size of the desktop icons, preferably to
something approximating the size of those in XP?

Thanks, MrBill

Click the menu button on a clear part of the desktop and look in the
View menu.

Or Hold down CTRL and use the scroll wheel on your mouse to adjust the size.

Try pressing 'Ctrl' while moving your mouse wheel should you have one.

Thanks everyone . . . that <Ctrl>-wheel setting is spiffy!

On a laptop with no mouse, press Ctrl + slide finger up/down the
touchpad scrolling region.

Right click on the desktop and chose View. Here you can chose large, medium
or classic icons. The classic setting gives XP size.
