Hello,
On a Windows Server 2012R2 that hosts a critical application for our organization, some users can only log in with a temporary profile.
I have been researching this for hours and have gone through more than half a dozen different solution, that has worked for some, but none is working for me.
The SID itself seems to be temporary, I am actively monitoring from an admin account the registry. When a user logs in a SID gets created S-1-5-21-<g class="gr_ gr_1057 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling" data-gr-id="1057" id="1057" style="font-size:0.75em;">blabla</g>-2521; when that user logs out the SID disappears.
When I modify the SID's ProfileImagePath C:\Users\TEMP.xxx to the login name and change the value of RefCount and State to "0" the SID persists but does not resolve the issue. When the user logs back in, the modified SID ends up with a .bak, removing the .bak & renaming the two SID has no effect. When the user logs back in again the ProfileImagePath changed before once again changes to a TEMP.xxx folder. The TEMP.xxx folder itself disappears when the user logs out and Windows simply will not copy/move any files or folder, including NTUSER.DAT to a different folder.
The same happens under User Profiles in System Properties, the Profile is available only when the user is logged in, after which it disappears. It is listed as a Roaming Temporary and this is the odd part, the Modified date is 8/11/2014.
Someone, please help me out. Please do not just throw out a link unless it specifically addresses the situation.
Thank you.
