Hi everyone,
My case here:
My company is a Vietnam-based software company. We has a software, which currently is deployed on a licensed Windows Server 2008 R2 in client environment (Macau).
We receive the news that Microsoft will end support of 2008 R2 on 2020, which is in 1 more year. So we want to build a nested TEST environment in client environment (Macau), install Windows Server 2012 R2 Evaluation, then deploy our software and run it for nearly 1 year to see if they are compatible with each other. If they are, we will upgrade our old 2008 onto 2012.
We'd like to ask if this is LEGAL? As we read the Terms & Conditions we see that there is a line as below:
You may not use the software in a live operating environment unless Microsoft permits you to do so under another agreement.
We'd like to know if our nested TEST environment in client environment can be perceived as "live operation environment" ?
Thanks.
