Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to install the driver for my MF621Cn printer on my Windows Server 2016. The Windows Server 2016 is a clean installation and nothing much have been installed on to it.
I have installed the printer driver successfully on other OS, namely Windows 10. However, when I run the driver installer on my Windows Server 2016, the installer unconveniently skips a page with options of installing via usb or via network, and goes directly into the network option. I am using the same installer file for both cases, and I have tried multiple versions of the the printer driver (e.g: MF630 driver, MF621 driver Malay language) all of which exhibit the same behavior.
This leads me to believe that a part of windows server feature is blocking the installation, but I'm not sure what. I have tried:
1. Enabling 'Print and Document Services' Role from Server Manager
2. Disabling 'Devices: Prevent users from installing printer drivers' from Local Group Policy Editor.
What might be causing the issue?
Regards
Ilyas
