Thread followers may remember I found my screen would not flip sideways
using the ctrl alt up etc.
Following up, I found that we had updated our graphics card driver, but this
had been to a version with a glitch which prevented some of the monitor
configuration settings showing ('Can't find requested string').
Correcting the update, I then found that I had a 180 degree rotate with the
up/down arrows, but oddly, the left and right rotate options remained greyed
out.
Turned out, that, following earlier advice to maximise the screen refresh
rate as better for the eyes, I had changed this to 75Hz. Changing it back
to 60Hz, restored the greyed out left and right flips.
Don't ask me why!
On the other hand, I would not recommend all this rotating, as it plays
havoc with the desktop icons, much like running them through a tumble
washer! (And don't tell me to 'fix icons on desktop' as I can't stand the
nasty boxes that appear under them when one does this!)
Might be of interest to someone.
