Hi all
just confused on an issue. Talking about windows server 2016 storage space direct, it detects all unused disks and combine them in a pool and then we can make virtual disks out of that pool. When making these virtual disks, it asks for mirror, stripped spare etc. My question is that shouldn't be this asked when we make the pool of the disks. Because till now in any SAN it was like this that you select raid on disks level and then you make pools out of that disks storage. In windows server 2012 or 2016 it is opposite. You make pool and then you make raid out of that virtual disks. Can someone clarify.
