Digital Certificate for Outlook 2007 Email encryption and signing

I used to use a Verisign digitial ID certificate which cost $20 per year for
email encryption over the Internet and for signing. When I try to install a
digital ID certificate in Outlook 2007 it only mentions two providers which
cost about $350 per year. Am I missing something or how do I get a simple
$20/year digital ID certificate? Below are the two Outlook 2007 providers:

The certificate has expired. I had tried it with Office 2007 Beta and I
could not get it to work.

Those are simply certificates from companies that have paid to be included
in the list of providers. Any X.509 certificate with the Secure Email OID
can be used with Outlook.

Thank you. I tried Verisign and their latest instructions are for Outlook
2000!
They do not work for Outlook 2007.

Do you know a more up-to-date X.509 Certificate provider? TIA

It really has not changed that much, to be honest.
It really is just getting the right certificate ordered (name in Subject
alternate name or subject matches your email address).
Outlook should just see it afterwards.

For Outlook 2007, if you buy the Verisign certificate, there is not much
else to configure.
Did you consider searching Outlook 2007 help for "get a digital ID"?
