Redirected folders What determines the whether Windows Server 2016 or Windows 7/10 is the source of the user data?

There is a Windows Server 2016 setup so the user's documents and desktop are stored on the server using redirected folders.

I have an executive who does not want to do the Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade.

I have taken her old computer and upgraded to Windows 10 off the network. When I attached that Windows 10 computer back to the network what will happen? Will the Windows 10 computer update the user information from the server or something else?
