How to fix KB4056898: Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 January 2018 Security Update (Meltdown)(Spectre)
We have installed required patches in the server however after re-scanning of the server using VA tool we are getting same vulnerability.
would be great if provide workaround for the same.
We installed KB4056898 patch in the server & below are the output getting from VA tool.
The following registry keys need to be set to the appropriate values.
This is required to enable the fix for CVE-2017-5715, CVE-2017-5753, CVE-2017-5754:
SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\FeatureSettingsOverride
SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\FeatureSettingsOverrideMask
As per our understanding and verified in the registry the required registry value doesn't exist in the regedit after installation of required patch.
Thank you.
