Broken link in email

The message 'Windows cannot find------------.Make sure you typed the name correctly,and try again.' keeps coming up when clicking on a any link in windows mail,windows help etc,etc. What does this mean and how do i fix it( it will not take me to the webpage in this case)I am on Vista Home Premium.
