Hi Guys,
I am having difficulties with understanding the licensing for the above system.
We are a small company with less than 50 employees (more than 25). Each employee has its own unique AD profile and their own computer.
Just a few users are accessing the server (administrators).
On the licensing overview for Windows 2016 server, it says "**CALs are required for every user or device accessing a server."
What does it mean? Do users authenticating with AD or accessing shared folders on the server are "accessing a server"?
Or does "server access" only happens when user is logging remotely or locally to the system?
This makes a huge difference for us - purchasing CALs is quite expensive.
Can someone assist me with this query?
I have been finding mixed information <g class="gr_ gr_23 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" data-gr-id="23" id="23">on-line</g>.
