Error 769

I'm trying to connect my Inspiron 1501 to the internet and the errro "769" appears. I've googled it and they told me to go in enable network adapter. The problem is that I don't have that button in my Device manager. How can I fix that? Thanks a lot. It's a windows xp by the way.
