Choosing an OS

Microsoft is doing its best to sell me a new P.C. that runs Windows 10. This one does just fine, thanks. It is a Gateway Desktop, no touchscreen, and runs an older version of Windows 8. Should I upgrade to 8.1, or go to 10? Is there a cost? Their sales screen is no help at all and is ticking me off.
