The account was setup by some guy my brother hired to setup his Windows 8 (enough said) laptop. The guy didn't write the password down and either didn't give it to my brother or (most likely) my brother forgot it and didn't write it down.
I've tried the online reset but it hasn't been able to help because we can't answer enough questions etc. (Three times we've struck out.)
Then I tried dialog with the on-line help; we found out that my brother's disconnected cell phone is tied to the account. Strike four.
The online could help because he has to use the tied phone to communicate. Strike five.
Now two answers seem to be open to me: One, change the password on Outlook.com or Two, reinstall Windows 8 on the laptop.
Number two works because he has been lock out of the machine since he purchased it in 2014, nothing to lose.
HELP! Please.
