Hi Guys,
Recently started using DFS Namespaces for user's redirected Documents folder which work fine when browsing through Windows Explorer but when using Office products it causes an issue.
It also only happens each time the Office product is closed and reopened. If the user lets the Browse window open, closes it and then repeats the Save As process it works straight away.
If a user opens a Word document, goes to File > Save As > Click Browse and by default it goes to the Documents folder but before the Browse window opens it comes up with the message in the Title of this post, stays there for about a minute and then opens the Documents folder.
Example Site: Belfast
Server: \\Server01\BelfastDocuments\User.User\Documents\
DFS: \\Test\User.User\Documents\
This happens for the users in Belfast and for my test account which I have given the same folder redirection policies as the Belfast user but is based in England where the DFS Replication data goes.
I have tried disabling SMB2 as suggested by someone as a test but this just disabled all network drive access.
The referrals is set to Lowest Cost but from what I understand it will always choose the server in the Client's Site first.
Any advise you guys have is appreciated.
Regards,
Andy
