Preventing Phantom Removable Drives at Start Up

R

Richard B

I recently purchased a Dell E520 dual core with Vista installed.

Every time I start my PC it comes up with four Phantom Removable drives
connected to the USB ports.

The option to remove those drives is in the tray and easily removed, but
I would like to find a way to prevent it from happening to begin with.

Is there a way to set this so it does not happen?

Thank you,

Richard..

Are you sure this isn't a card reader (for Secure Digital, Compact Flash
etc. memory cards)?

These are the card reader drives that are mounted on the front of the
computer case. They are made for compact flash cards. You might want to
consult the manual for instructions on hiding these drives at startup.
