We use server 2012 R2 and have setup (and working) folder redirection for all the teachers/staff and faculty. It has worked great for a couple of years. Now, i have to redo the storage area which has the folder redirection files on it (about 100gb). So what i did was unlink the GPO last thursday night. On friday, only some users were reporting a significant login wait time (these users have 30gb or more). This morning, login times are back to normal but what i see in my own profile is i can not access my downloads folder and some other users are reporting they can't get to there various local folders (but can access things on their desktop). The error we get is can't access the folder redirection location (which is now their local location).
On the folder redirection GPO, on the settings tab, policy removal is set to redirect folder back to local location. If i right click the folders in question, the location tab still has the folder redirection path. I have gpupdate /force and restarted the PC multiple times. Why are some folders still reporting the folder redirection location?
I also just discovered my recycle bin is also redirected (i guess because it is on my desktop).
