Booting up in DOS

Hello all,

I have a ham radio program that runs just fine on a Windows 98SE machine but apparently does not

like Windows XP Professional. The program is a logging program, which keeps track of the 53,000+

contacts that I have made since becoming a ham radio operator in 1981.

The name of the program is called "CT" and I made a directory on the hard drive and called it CT.

When I bring up the command prompt after clicking the start button, then clicking "all programs"

and then "accessories" and selecting "command prompt," I change directories to the CT directory.

I then try to execute the CT.exe and it brings up the program in a box that is less than the full size

of the screen. When I try to enter information, it allows me to enter in some information and then

it will not allow me to enter the rest of it.

Is there a way to have the computer boot up in DOS - that is, to bring up the command prompt

(root directory), where I can then change directories and execute the CT.exe?

I saw someone mention "DOSBOX" as a possible fix for this but have not investigated that. I thought

that I would ask my question first. Thanks for any help!
