Windows XP activation

I have re-installed an OEM version of Windows XP on same machine as it was originally installed on. I have tried to activate over the phone and activation code is not recognized. I have called Microsoft and they have said maybe the key has been revoked from their listing as it is unsupported software. How can I activate this product?
