Hello,
I can not update my Windows 10 anymore (0x80070006) and Windows Defender is blocked on "desactivated".
I tried to run the solver I installed from the support Microsoft, but it says it corrected the problem with the "Research and Install of updates" while I still get this error 0x80070006.
I also scanned my computer with Avira and Avast, but no virus was fund.
I tried to reset Windows Updates components following this procedure from the Microsoft support.
- at the step 3. Windows returns that this directory was not found.
I went further anyway...
- at the step 4, "Ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak" it returns "acces denied" so I went to the folder System32 trying to change the rigths, but I cannot change them.
I went further anyway...
- at the step 6, while running "regsvr32.exe mshtml.dll" it returns "The module "mshtml.dll" was loaded, but the entry point DllRegisterServer was not found" and several other dll return the same message. (So I went to regedit and verified that I have the rigths on TypeLib in HKEY classes root, which is ok)
I did a CHKDSK and a SFC scan, and nothing was found.
I would like to solve this problem either with a technical geeky solution or by repairing Windows, but I do not want to have to reinstall all my softwares. The only backup image I have is dated after the last scan runned by Windows Update so it seems useless.
Could you help me, please ?
Best regards,
Yoann
