Under Add Roles and Feature for a Windows Server 2012 R2 server, the Web Server (IIS)/Management Tools/IIS Management Scripts and Tools shows that it is installed. If I browse the WMI Namespace root\WebAdministration, I get Error 0x80041032.
All documentation I can find, points to the IIS Management Scripts and Tools as not being installed. They are installed and have been for years. Is there some other component needed? All of the management tools options are installed, so if there is something missing it would have to be from some other feature or role, but I can't find any documentation that sheds any light on what it would be. Most of the related documentation assumes you have a working WMI Namespace, almost nothing mentions what is required.
For a PowerShell example, it is mentioned that 'add-pssnapin WebAdministration' should work with IIS Managment Scripts and Tools installed, but it does not. I get an error stating that the snapin 'WebAdministration' is not installed.
