My D Drive crashed and I lost all my data files.
I installed a new 4 TB Seagate disk as the new D drive.
The backup files on C: were made by having previously copied the files through the file explorer so I am performing a copy/past (or cut/paste) folders from the C: to the D: drive in file explorer. The total size of all the files is about 1 TB.
The drives are not shared and hence network performance should not be an issue and I am the only user and there are no other processes running.
The first 30 seconds or so the copy/move speed is OK but then drops dramatically to fluctuate between 0 to 11 Mb/s and the progress bar tells me it will take more than 24 hrs!
I started copying a smaller folder 50 GB and 12 hrs later it is about 60% complete.
The disk cache had been disabled, I have now disabled the cache but no significant difference in performance.
The copy or move always starts fast but very soon slows down to a crawl.
Any suggestion to resolve will be greatly appreciated.
