We recently moved a few file shares to a new server running Windows Server 2012. Since doing so, users have been getting error messages about files being locked or in use (this happens with documents as well as a few custom applications).
Watching the Open Files in the Shared Folders management console, it looks like files are hanging open long after they are actually closed on the client end.
We have disabled antivirus scanning and played with a few settings (offline files, oplocks, etc.) both on the client side and on the server, but have had no luck at all.
Is this a common issue with 2012 file servers?
Are there any settings on the server that we can change to speed up the releasing of open files?
