-virtual server in vSphere 6.5
-Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard
-6 CPU
-24GB RAM
-has File Server role installed
-hosting about 20 volumes of various sizes from 100GB to 15TB
-all partitions show as healthy
-open Computer Management > Disk Management
-select disk
-right-click > Offline
-hour glass appears but nothing happens, volume will not offline
Has happened multiple times with different volumes. Have waited over an hour. All services continue to appear to run. Nothing in Event Log. Reboot, try again, same hour glass.
Any ideas as to why the volumes won't offline?
Is there an error/log file I can look at to see what is going on?
