We have a (headless) Server 2012 doing file/print serving and serving as the host for the Quickbooks Db. We have installed noting on it for some time other then to install patches.
For some reason over the past 3-4 weeks it will suddenly be totally unresponsive. It is headless and we can not even RDP into it. All we get is a black screen, no login. The only way to get it back is to power cycle it. In reviewing the event logs just prior to the power cycle I get a lot of 7000 events; thins not starting in a timely fashion. The bulk of them is :
The Device Setup Manager service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
Event ID 7000
These are happening over and over just before the restart.
How can I best diagnose this?
