How do I make my desk top automatically turn on when I open the face?

When I open my desktop(my laptop was physically closed then I physically open it) , sometimes it automatically turns on and sometimes I have to press a few keys on the keyboard or press the power button. How do I make it so it automatically turns on when I open the face of the computer 100% of the time.
