I have an issue similar to this: Problem with evaluating effective permissions/access. but with a different twist.
I have a specific user who is unable to save files to a shared folder. The user is in a group with modify permissions and others do not have this problem.
There is quite a lot of detail.
The server is a member of a DFS replication pair. The user in question is able to save a file to the other replication partner.
When looking at folder security, this user is in a group with modify permission to the folder. Other users in the same group can write to the folder.
As a domain admin while looking at security and checking effective access I am able to view effective access for any user except for this one user. When I try to examine her effective access, I get the error "You do not have permission to evaluate effective access rights for the remote resource. Contact the administrator of the target server"
I am able to view her effective access from the 2nd member of the DFS replication pair but not from the first. I can view other users' permissions on either pair.
I have a temporary fix by directing the user to save files to the 2nd server but this is not a solution, just a work around. I'm open to suggestions why this user is unable to save to this server and why as an administrator, I cannot view her effective access but can view all other users'.
Thanks,
John Delaney
