Hello,

We are running a Windows 2012R2 server. Workstations in question are running Windows 10 x64 with Office 2013.

Under the folder share, the user has the following permissions:

  • Traverse folder / execute file
  • Read attributes
  • Read extend attributes
  • Read permissions

User should be allowed access to edit a file within the folder. User has the following permissions for the file:

  • Traverse folder /execute file
  • List folder / read data
  • Read attributes
  • Read extended attributes
  • Create files / write data
  • Create folders / append data
  • Write attributes
  • Write extended attributes
  • Delete
  • Read permissions

The user is able to open the file in question (in Excel). However when she tries to save it, she receives the following error:

Microsoft Excel

Access denied. Contact your administrator.

I was able to copy the file to the local machine and save changes with no issues. The same issue is present on multiple workstations.

User is accessing the file via a mapped network drive.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Regards,

Rudy
