We have built 2 win server 2012 R2 server images, 1 web and 1 SQL and before we exported the images in Hyper-V or in VMware we activated our SPLA MAK lic on them but are finding that when our customers are bringing them online they must be re-activated. Not all but the systems that do not have an internet connection. The reason we pre-activate is for this reason as many of these systems are air gapped.
In the past I have had to run slmgr /dti to get the installation ID and then work with Microsoft to get a new activation ID and then use slmgr /atp newid
this is proving to be extremely taxing on both our co. and the partner co's. How is one supposed to send out pre-lic, pre-activated images to partners and not have to go thru this problem?
