I am actively working on about 10 websites and I use Web Deploy to push improvements and changes to 2 servers from VS2017.
One of the servers is on a Azure VM and it was updated March 1st with:
2019-02 Security and Quality Rollup .NET Framework KB4487080
2019-2 Security Monthly Quality rollup for Windows Server 2012 R2 KB890830
Web Deploy was working on this server as late a February 27, i.e. just a few days before.
Now WebDeploy reports:
"Unable to compare About.cshtml. File does not exist on the server.
Preview changes completed with errors."
This file does exist on this server, and I can still publish changes.
The other server is not on Azure, and Web Deploy still works as it should.
Is is possible that either of these two updates has impacted Web Deploy?
