What make/model PC do you have whose power supply is making +2.5 volts?
Make/model of power supply? Website of manufacturer?

I know of two hardware items that use +2.5V on some PCs. But the voltage
(+2.5V) itself is not made by the PC's power supply.

Know where this going, I'll bow out now.
