Hi I am running windows server 2012 r2 and I would like to setup the inbound rules such that only local IPs and selected public IPs can access the server. It appears that this can be accomplished in two ways:
1. Find the inbound RDP rule and adjust the scope to reflect the public and private IPs accordingly
Q - there are several RDP rules, which ones would I set the scope for? I just need my network and 3 public IPs
2. Setup 2 new inbound rules, (a) set up the first rule to block everything (b) setup another rule to whitelist the IPs both private and public
Q - I tried this and was able to block but not create an RDP inbound rule for access to the public or local network IPS, any suggestions?
Thanks I appreciate any assistance here
