When i place my memory stick in my usb port it comes up as D:\ and when i try
to access the files stored on the stick the message reads "D:\ is not
accessible, the device is not ready." but i have installed the Memory stick
onto the computer. but the weird thing is that the U3 system files E:\ shows
but not the rest how can i get my usb and memory stick to work?

This would be unusual. In most PCs, drive D:\
is either a CD drive or a "logical partition" on the
hard drive (next after C:\) Are you sure your USB
pseudodrive shows as D:\ ?

what usb-memory drivers do you use? something that came with
your memory or the Unofficial Windows 98 SE Native USB Drivers?

perhaps you can try to remove all usb-drivers and reinstall them again
