Guys, if you really want to install Windows XP on your modern PC (PCs preinstalled Windows 10/8.1), you can...But since Microsoft dropped support 5 years ago, it's better not to install it. You can do this at your own risk.

If you really want XP on modern PC, then better perform a clean installation. But I recommend you to use a virtual machine to run Windows XP within your primary OS. Virtualization is a freeware, like Virtualbox, VMware, and Microsoft Virtual PC.

If you prefer dual boot your later versions of Windows with Windows XP (or Windows 9x), then all you have to do:

Install an older version of Windows first. Then after, you can install later versions.

If you're a Windows 10 user, trying to dual boot with Windows XP, i'll tell you:

In Windows XP, IE6 is the default Internet Explorer version for Windows XP. You need IE8 (IE8 is the latest version of IE to run on Windows XP.). But since IE6 cannot access most of the websites, better download IE8 installer using IE11 or MS Edge on Windows 10. Then you can install IE8 using Windows XP by accessing a Windows 10 drive.

But instead of dual boot, I recommend you again to use a virtual machine. OK?
