Trying to reinstall Windows 10 after factory reset

I had upgraded to Windows 10 on my Dell Alienware laptop when it all came out. A month ago I had an issue that the only resolution was to do a factory reinstall. It put me back to Windows 8.1. I've attempted several times to reinstall Windows 10 using the media creation tool. It gets hung up at 46% looking for updates. None of the resolutions or troubleshooting tips offered in previous posts have worked, so I downloaded it to a jumpdrive. From there, again it got stuck at 46% looking for updates. So I tried to bypass that and told it NOT to look for updates. Now it tells me that my graphics card (both the onboard and additional NVdia) are incompatible with Windows 10. They were just fine prior to the reinstall, so why are they saying both are incompatible now?
