Hi!
I am thinking of the following setup:
|============|
| Internet |
| Users BYOD |
=============
||
|| access
\/
================ ==================
| SYNOLOGY providing | Synology as LDAP Client | SERVER 2012 R2 |
| RADIUS, Cloud, Chat | ======================> | |
| Office, Mail, ... | | LDAP with USERS |
================ =================
/\
|| access
||
|=============|
| WIFI/INTRANET |
| Users BYOD & PCs |
==============
(Sorry for ASCII drawing, I'm not allowed to post pictures or links here yet. I hope it does not get scrambled...)
My Question: Do I need User or Device CALs for this scenario?
Thanks!
Ben

- The users are in the LDAP of the Windows Server AD.
- The Synology will be a client of that LDAP.
- All the services which require authentication (see picture) will be hosted on the Synology.
- The RADIUS is also the Synology RADIUS service.
- There will be no direct connection of any user or PC to the Server 2012 R2. Only the Synology is a client of the AD/LDAP
