Access to the already installed programe softwares and documents.

Please, I joined a computer which already has some programmes installed on it and other documents saved on it as well to a domain and can't get access to them(software and documents) now. Thus that mean before a computer could be added or joined to a domain, it should have no documents saved on it or programmes software already installed on it?
