Learning on Server Backup and Microsoft Security Patching

Hi Expert,

I am currently learning Windows Server 2016, I wanted to check on Server Backup and Microsoft Security Patching. Normally for server what kind of method will big and small company does for the backup? Is it commonly using the windows backup feature, cloud or taping?

For Microsoft Security Patching will administrator be using WSUS method? Or is the other then WSUS method? Appreciate if any expert and give me some pointer and advice on this.
