I just bought a Windows Server 2016 Standard Edition.
It will replace the main domain controller which is Windows Server 2012 Standard.
I want to eventually give the Server 2016 the same IP Address as the Server 2012 for firewall and Network Policy Server continuity as well as DHCP and other roles.
My question is this. If I configure the Server 2016 with ADDS and DNS with an IP address of xxx.xxx.18.9 but change it to xxx.xxx.18.11 the day of the switch-over, will it cause any problems with DNS?
Obviously, I know that I have to turn off the old server first so there is no IP Address conflict.
