Stuck at Windows Logo Forever

I have i window 2016 VM that was initially running OK until i applied some updates yesterday (Windows Update). Since then, the server is stuck on logo with dot and it's not going beyond. It's my main server running exchange and AD can't afford a clean install and i have tried all recovery options to no avail. Can't even access the server on safe mode.
