Cannot access or delete a folder on a local drive -- Location not available

Hey all, we have a weird situation on a Windows 2012 R2 server. On a local drive, that is shared among PCs and Macs, there is a folder that a Mac user copied over that we cannot access or delete. It's 2 folders actually. When trying to access it, you get the error Location is unavailable. Any reason why this would be happening and how to resolve it? It's a little concerning.
