I have a .cmd script in my Start Menu Startup folder. I usually want
it to run on startup but every once in a while I don't, and I won't
know that I want to block it until after I've powered the machine off.
In XP and prior I could just hold down the left Shift key immediately
after logging in, but in Vista Business the script runs even with the
Shift key held down. I also tried holding down the Ctrl, Alt, and
Windows keys to no avail. I Googled it but found nothing.
What key (or combination) can you hold down to prevent Vista from
executing items in the Startup folder?
