Hi! Where can I get drivers for the above? Needless to say, Windows ME can't
find recognize and I can't find anything online either... all it is, is a
Western Digital Hard drive in an enclosure. I've looked at WD's website but
nothing, unless I'm missing something...

Let me know! Thanks in advance

Carmen,

What exactly is the problem you are having? You shouldn't need any
additional drivers. What do you see in the Device Manager when you plug
in the drive? Is the problem that you aren't seeing a drive letter for
the drive in Windows Explorer, if so that could be a partitioning/format
problem rather than one of having no suitable drivers.

You defnitely must be, Carmen, but first you'll have to secure your drive's
id #, which is printed on it. Only then can you find further instructions
pertaining to the drive and including the 'diagnostic' utility, which I
personally find very useful.
Let us know how you made out.

Harry.

Didn't intend to 'cross' you, Mike.
Your reply showed up right after I released mine.
I'm sorry, please forgive me.
Hope we can be of help.

Harry.

Do you have the Plug and Play stuff set up on your computer?
Does your computer (has to be older) have USB or USB 2.0 hardware?

"205 Gig Western Digital drive (USB)"
Model number?

That *is* the problem... it tells me it's having a problem with the drivers,
which would make no sense normally, but since it's Windows ME, nothing
surprises me! :)

Information is essential to help solve problems. I regret to have to say
that saying you have a problem isn't enough. This is the same regardless
of the OS in use, be it Win 95, Win Me or Vista. What exactly does the
device manager say?

Do other usb devices work? Have you tried connecting the drive to a
different usb port on the same machine? Have you tried the drive on
another PC (operating system immaterial)?

Hi Mike... thanks for asking... unfortunately, I had to return my friend's
computer to him before I could write down the exact statement. He's decided
he's had enough of all this nonsense anyway and will be purchasing a new
system for himself... so the point is moot.

Thanks again!
