Does the SID (Security Identifier) on a computer change when added to a domain? I believe the answer is yes form the RID master, but what happens to the SID that was create when it was in a workgroup? Is there now two sets of SID's one for workgroup and one for the domain on the computer?
I know I'm getting really detailed here but I'm getting really to deploy a bunch of VM's from a template in a hypervisor and I don't want to have an issue with SID's on the domain. I don't want to get on the subject of what hypervisor I am using or the setting I need to make to avoid duplicate SID's in a domain. I just want to understand the SID part of it.
This thread is pretty good but I just want to be clear about how SID's work.
