Around once a week, users on an RDS server are experiencing application hangs, these escalate in frequency and propagate throughout the user-base eventually leading the the Start Menu and taskbar freezing and preventing use. The only solution found so far has been to reboot the server.
Current OS Version is: 1607 Build: 14393.2906
The application hangs typically occur for ShellExperienceHost.exe, Explorer.exe. Outlook.exe, Firefox.exe, Chrome.exe
We have attempted to resolve by repairing the image using DISM and SFC Scan and disabling Cortana, running Windows Updates when available. The issue however keeps returning.
From my troubleshooting I have found numerous reports of these issues ocurring however there does not seem to be any confirmed workaround or fix, and with it being an RDS server used daily by many users, resetting it is not an option for us.
Has anyone encountered these issues and found a fix/workaround?
