DC replication Redundancy

Hello,


I am testing the redundancy of our DC. We have two DC running server 2012 r2, DC1 is the main that holds all roles and DC2 is setup for redundancy so my question is if i shutdown DC1 will i have to manually promote DC2 to become the new DC1 or will it automatically push DC2 to become the new main DC.
