Windows Vista Restoration Issue

Hello, me and a friend were restoring an old Windows Vista Home Premium PC, but when turned on it had Windows Vista Home Basic installed. I was wondering if there is a way to swap the OS, because it will not allow me to enter the premium product key on the basic OS.


I need to activate it so that I can upgrade to Windows 10 or 7. (Yes, I know support has ended)
