Windows Mail - Vista

Hi

I was unable to log on to my Vista programme because it would not recognise my user profile. I followed a Youtube video to rectify the problem , which did work, but I have lost all my settings for everything on the computer. I need to access my Windows Mail but I do not know how to. A new user account has been set by Microsoft but how can I retrieve my old user account.
